Welding to British Standard 4872
Please note; We only offer this training in-house for companies and do not deliver training for individual clients.
On completion of this course the delegates should be able to produce a range of basic welded joints in mild steel of various thickness by the manual metal arc process, safely and competently to an industrially acceptable standard.
The basis welding qualification is the BS 4872. This is done in approximately three days with an on-going assessment by the qualified instructor. The instructor can issue the BS 4872 certificates. Although there is no requirement for recertification it is recommended that they are re-tested every two years. This will cover all the various types of welding.
Welding of pressurized vessels requires the coded standard. To be qualified as a coded welder for pressurized vessels the candidates must be qualified to the BS EN 288 standard.
